Just had another fabulous meal here, could heartily recommend the Abbey. No airs and Grace's just really friendly staff and the owner so easy to talk to. One of the best restaurants I've been to.
This is a lovely wee pub and restaurant! The bar area boasts comfy seating, a real log fire, and a warm welcome. The dining room is nicely laid out, with comfortable booths and good-sized tables. The food is superb, with hearty portions cooked well and nicely presented by the friendly staff. A lot of care and thought is evident in the food: I was delighted to find the salad accompanying my meal was a delicious mix of at least 10 vegetables, in a very nice and subtle balsamic dressing - a very welcome step up from the dry lettuce, tomato and cucumber that too often seems to serve as a side salad in Britain!The prices are about average for decent pub food; generally about 10-12 for mains. They do also offer lighter meals for lunch, and through the afternoon, at much lower prices.Whenever you go, though, I don't think you'll be disappointed!
The food was good nice portion size. Would definately would come back. The mixed grill was all good to my liking.
Friendly atmosphere and staff. Comfy surroundings with an open fire to warm the toes as you warm your hackles with a fine range of Malt, Gin, wine, beers and of course coffee. A meal served with a smile and you can always cheer yourself up with a little "blether" or banter with the staff.
Clean, service excellent, food well presented, hot and plentyful. Menu changed to suit my needs, no problem. Will visit againWorth a try.
